Wedding Series // Bridesmaid Gifts
So when it came to finding the perfect bridesmaid gift, I didn’t want it to be something used solely for the wedding or something they wouldn’t appreciate. Often times bridesmaids get gifts where it’s just something to wear for that day, which is fine, but what if they would never wear or use it again? I didn’t want that. I wanted something that would be meaningful in a different way…so, this is what I got them!
I ordered each of my bridesmaids one of these bracelets! The whole concept was to give them a bracelet that was a knot so that I could write something along the lines of “Thanks for helping me tie the knot!” I got each of the bridesmaids the bracelet in the color they prefer (silver or gold). The great thing about these bracelets are they are from the Story Company! It’s called the Kanchana Knot Bracelet, made in Tamil Nadu, India by an organization called Mata. The jewelry is sold at fair trade prices, and allows for the women creating them to send their children to school, feel empowered to take their lives into their own hands and provide for their families.
It was important to me to not only give my bridesmaids a cute gift they would love, that was meaningful in the wedding sense, but it was also important to me that it was a gift that made a difference in someone’s life. I looked at all sorts of organizations and companies and had narrowed it down to this bracelet and one other. But the determining factor for me, was that this particular bracelet allowed for it to be more personalized to the bridesmaid by picking the color. The other one I had chosen (same knot bracelet idea…just different company and material etc) only came in one color. So this one was perfect!
I wanted the bracelets to be wrapped in a really fun way, so I took the idea of the Tiffany & Co. little blue box with white ribbon, and made my own! I bought little boxes from Hobby Lobby, and painted them a metallic grey to match our wedding colors. I then wrapped each bracelet in silver tissue paper and put the lid on the boxes. I even learned via online tutorial how to tie the “Tiffany & Co. Bow” with satin ribbon! So I tied each and every box using that technique, which is SUPER easy, and added a little card! I think they turned out super cute!
