So, I haven’t blogged in quite a while. Life has been busy. And I mean BUSY! We moved into our house, got situated, started building a fireplace and shelves, added a new puppy (a Labradoodle who is ADORABLE,) and went through my birthday, the holidays and our first anniversary. We have been just crazy busy and with all of the time I have been dedicating to my health and fitness, by the time I get home from the gym each night, I just haven’t had the energy to blog or really even cook meals like I love to. That being said, I have been having some health issues that I think some of you are probably pretty curious about, and I welcome the opportunity to vent and process it. Also, this is a really personal and sensitive issue, so please … Read More »

I started taking spinach salads for lunch, which I hate the taste of spinach but it’s healthy! I put grilled chicken, walnuts, goat cheese and a bit of dressing on it. It’s not too bad, but I can’t stand the after taste of spinach! It’s been good though and I will continue it for a while and see how I feel. I also got a new strength training routine this week, and it is killer! We are working a lot on my upper arms, shoulders and back right now, so let’s just say there are a lot of burpies, shoulder presses, rows, pull ups, etc. But it’s all really good and I have been seeing changes still! He knows what to push me in and OMG does he! OWWW! :)

Happy 4th of July! I hope you all are enjoying your holiday and the gorgeous day! Love having the day off and spending it with friends and family! What are your plans for the day? Any great 4th of July recipes?
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
I made these new banana muffins this week that were delicious! Rolled oats, honey, and greek yogurt in them! YUMMM!!!
This month’s Throwback Thursday is a fun one! This is a picture of my sister and I with two of our cousins, Nicole and Christopher, when we lived in Maryland! When I first showed this picture to my husband, he asked where I was, and who the two boys were!? I informed him that I had very little hair as a baby….and when I started to get hair, I pretty much had a mohawk. He had no idea which one I was at first! (See if you can guess….now that I gave it away!)
So our house is well underway now and it is going FAST! One week it was just the foundation, the next the outside walls were going up! We went back again this weekend (yes, 4 weeks in a row now!) and the wood for the roof is already up! We actually got to do our very first walk through! It still doesn’t feel real! It’s so exciting! The concrete for our garage is poured as well as the front porch! It really is amazing to see the progress from week to week!
This past weekend Nate and I got to FINALLY go to the zoo! We had been trying to find a good time to go to the zoo for months now, but the weather would never cooperate and it was always super busy. We were able to make it to the zoo Friday morning before heading over for my brother’s graduation. I recently got a new camera and so I was really excited to take some fun pictures :) We got some really beautiful ones!
This past weekend was my younger brother, Mikal’s high school graduation! It’s such an odd feeling to have him be 18 and graduated! Truth be told, it makes me feel old! I remember when my parents sat my sister and I down to tell us they were having a baby, and when they had to go to the hospital, and when my brother was 2 or 3 and obsessed with hot wheels cars and basketballs. Now, he’s an adult, drives, is moving away to college, and is working towards a career! GAHH! Where did the time go?

I started my first full week of my new weight training routine and oh my gosh was it hard!! I have been absolutely exhausted all week! Plus on the two days I had my core class my coach worked us harder than normal to see where we are all at, so I’ve been just wiped out every evening! I also started taking half of a bell pepper each day as my mid-morning snack and so far, I still prefer orange bell peppers! I like all bell peppers, but orange is by far my favorite! I also had a few yummy salads as snacks!

Over last weekend, I was sitting on the couch and Nathon was on the floor. It was around 9pm, and all of a sudden I felt … Read More »
So we had been waiting quite a while for our plots to be approved, and they finally were a few weeks ago! Then we began waiting for the word that our foundation was being started. Memorial Day afternoon, Nathon and I were busy cleaning when we got the email. Our sales guys were gone that Thursday-Sunday and had just arrived back to work on Monday, when they saw that our plot had been cleared and leveled. That day the team came in and set up the forms for the foundation. They immediately emailed us and we very quickly finished our cleaning and headed out!
