This past week I got to go to a veterinary conference for work to take some photos for our upcoming website. I have never been to a veterinary conference before so it was really interesting! One thing I have learned from my work is just how extremely different the veterinary world is to the creative arts world! Completely different way of thinking!

My husband, Nathon, and I went on our honeymoon bright and early the morning after the wedding, to Mexico! We got to the room (which I should mention was a GORGEOUS SUITE!!) the night of the wedding at 10pm something, and our wakeup call was at 3:30am! Our flight to LA was at 8am, so we were VERY tired! I believe we both slept on the first flight, but woke up to eat breakfast of course ;)

So when it came to finding the perfect bridesmaid gift, I didn’t want it to be something used solely for the wedding or something they wouldn’t appreciate. Often times bridesmaids get gifts where it’s just something to wear for that day, which is fine, but what if they would never wear or use it again? I didn’t want that. I wanted something that would be meaningful in a different way…so, this is what I got them!

This year’s Oscars ceased to “WOW” me. There really wasn’t any one gown that left my jaw on the floor, which was rather disappointing! That’s not to say that there weren’t beautiful dresses and tuxedos, but just that I wasn’t in awe! I really was expecting to be! However, I do have a couple favorites.

So one of the things we decided upon VERY soon after getting engaged, (we’re talking within the first 3 weeks,) was who our photographer would be. My husband, Nathon, and I are both artistic and have a deep love for photography so it was extremely important to us that we LOVE our photographer. We had about 5 in mind that I follow on a daily basis, and we sat down to go over their portfolio’s with a fine-toothed comb, make notes about what we were drawn to, and finally take notice of the cost. It certainly didn’t take long for us to whole-heartedly agree, hands-down, on Spencer Combs.

Months of prep went into planning the wedding of our dreams! Besides picking our amazing venue and photographer, there were a bunch of little things that had to get done. I made drink tokens, invitations, table numbers and more!

So, I have been pretty MIA from the blog for a good while now. Sorry for those of you who are regulars….which I feel like I might be hearing crickets out there? ;) haha Anyway, it has been a bit crazy busy lately with the wedding coming up in…..wait for it….. 8 days! And prepping at work for being gone for a couple weeks. Not to mention all of the holidays in between! Needless to say, I have been busy! But, I thought I would take a few moments to update you all on how I am feeling one week out from saying, “I DO.”
